The Acheson's are my cousins who I never see because they are missionaries in India. They finally made it out our way this year after 13 years, I think - I can't say when we'll make it out there way!! I had the distinct pleasure of photographing their beautiful family. Here are a few more that I love...

Sher asked for this last picture specifically because of the mixture of skin tones in their family. The first time I saw it, it brought tears to my eyes. This is family. Something to be treasured.

This family can attest to the moment I said, "Oh. There it is. We might as well pack up and go home. I've got it!" Of course we continued on for many more shots but sometimes I just get this moment where I KNOW I've got the shot we set out to capture. For the Acheson's, I think this was it and I knew it the minute I clicked it!

I'll be putting way more from this session up once I can narrow it down a bit. I just wanted to share my "aha!" moment with all of you!

You've seen Jack before on here, both here and in here! I got to hang out with him again recently. You'll see he's changed just a bit since the last time I photographed him!

Jack isn't shy. He just learned how to play peek-a-boo.

And he's incredibly inquisitive. You should have seen his face when he noticed that there was music on!

He's learning to stand while propped up against something often using his belly as support!

He appreciates the simple things in life like playing with his shoes or his sock monkey that his mama made him

And he's got the most delicious arm dimples and smushy cheeks one could hope for.

I can't wait to see him again in a few months. Only then I'm quite certain I'll have a harder time keeping up with him!

Meet Jonah. Jonah's mommy and daddy absolutely adore him. I know this for certain because at one point I had to ask his daddy to move his hands off of Jonah because they were in all of the pictures. You could tell that no matter how many snuggles and kisses they got - they wanted more! I love it when families are just so in love with one another that it oozes out of them. Here are just a few from our time together.

I had the privilege of photographing this stylish little one at only 4 days old! Mom had been given a gift certificate for a newborn session for Christmas (rhonda fast photography gifts are about the best there is!) and so together we awaited the arrival of this precious little bundle!

Well, here it is 2010 (for a whole 13 days now). I have to admit, when I was a kid I thought for sure by now we'd have hover cars and dress predominantly in metallics. Guess I was wrong. Anyways...

I just wanted to update the blog to wish you all a Happy New Year and to let you know that I have definitely not forgotten about updating around here. Thing is maternity sessions don't always make the blog for discretionary reasons and I am eagerly anticipating the phone calls from two clients whose babies were suppose to make their world debut on the same day! I can't wait to do their newborn sessions!

So there will be more updates in the weeks to come. Until then, stay well. And admire this beautiful belly.

I fear I may not have been completely clear in my last "That's a wrap" post! What I meant was that my shooting is done for those clients wishing to have Christmas Cards done or other photos (enlargements, photo books, story boards, etc) ready for them in time for Christmas! I most DEFINITELY am not done shooting!

I know some of you have contacted me regarding family photos in the snow and to those maternity clients who have contacted me and are waiting for a spot closer to their due date and then for their little one once they are born - yes, yes, YES! I will still happily take your bookings!

Here's one quick shot of my session from this morning! I LOVE his sleepy stretch and big yawn!

It's official. My pre-christmas cut off dates have now come and the seasons shooting is over. Sessions have been shot in cozy homes, outside in the beautiful sunshine, we've braved the wind and the rain, pregnant women have visited my home and then their sweet babies followed suit just a few short weeks later! The edits are done. The galleries have been made. Christmas cards have been designed. You've chosen your shots and I've placed the orders! Now we wait.

I can't wait to make all of the final deliveries as they come in. Their are some great images that have been ordered and I can't wait to see them in print!

It's been a busy and wonderful season of shooting and I want to send a special THANK-YOU out to all of my amazing clients. To those of you who return year after year - thank-you! I appreciate it so much and love seeing how all of your children have grown. To those of you who referred me to your friends and family - a HUGE thank-you! I don't advertise my business in any capacity and yet I never seem to have a shortage of clients because of you guys. I'm so thankful. And to my first time clients - thank you for entrusting me with your families images this year. I hope you LOVE them and that you'll be back next year!

That said, I love to see what clients have done with their photos. So if you wouldn't mind - take a photo or two of your images on the wall, or the mantle or wherever you've put them and send them my way!

And finally, here are just a few of the christmas card designs that we pulled together this year. I'm so pleased with many of them and am thankful that there will be some completely original (read: not Costco!) Christmas cards going out in the mail this year!

And you'll have to wait a few more weeks for my family's card because I haven't had time to finish it yet!
